Fucoidan exhibits various physiological activities, such as inducing apoptosis (causing cancer cells to self-destruct), inhibiting angiogenesis (preventing the proliferation of cancer cells), boosting the immune system, and reducing the side effects of anticancer treatments.

Fucoidan is derived from mekabu seaweed, mozuku seaweed, and kombu (kelp). While it offers these beneficial effects, its specific functions vary depending on its structure, constituent sugars, and other compounds.

To enhance efficacy, Fucoidan Mix AG was developed with the idea that combining fucoidan from different sources and functions would be more effective than using them individually. Fucoidan Mix AG is a blend of Okinawan mozuku-derived fucoidan, mekabu-derived fucoidan, and agaricus mycelium extract in a specific ratio. Previous studies have shown that mozuku-derived fucoidan excels in inducing apoptosis, while mekabu-derived fucoidan is particularly effective at inhibiting angiogenesis. Additionally, agaricus, like fucoidan, is known for its immune-boosting properties. By combining these three ingredients, each with distinct functions, Fucoidan Mix AG has been proven to be more potent than fucoidan alone.

▼Verification of NK cell activation

The figure below illustrates the NK cell activity results in five groups of mice that were subcutaneously transplanted with cancer cells. The effects of mozuku-derived fucoidan, mekabu-derived fucoidan, agaricus mycelium extract, and Fucoidan Mix AG on NK cell activity were evaluated. Compared to the control group, all treated groups exhibited an increase in NK cell activity. Notably, the highest NK cell activity was observed in the group that consumed Fucoidan Mix AG, confirming that the combination of these ingredients has a greater effect than individual components.
