Suppression of Blood-Sugar Levels

The effect of fucoidan on blood sugar levels was investigated using the enzyme electrode method. Two groups of KK-Ay mice—a model for high blood sugar and diabetes—were fed for a period of two months on either a standard diet or a fucoidan-mixed diet. Blood glucose levels were measured at 10-day intervals throughout the study. The results showed a significant suppression of blood sugar levels in the group fed with the fucoidan-mixed diet compared to the control group.
