Immunostimulating Action

Immunostimulating Action

Immunostimulating means activating the body's immune system. By strengthening the immune system, living things can protect themselves from their enemies and entry of foreign substances. As a result, they can stay healthy.

Verification of NK Cell Activation

NK Cell Activation was verificated with fucoidan derived from Mozuku, fucoidan derived from Mekabu, Agaricus mycelium extract and a mixture of these three (fucoidan-mix), by using BALB/c mice (hereinafter referred to as mice).
BALB/c mouse … standard albino laboratory mouse
NK cell …a type of immune cell that plays a role of destroying tumor cells or virus-infected cells

・Experimental Method
Mouse ascites tumor cells (sarcoma 180) were subcutaneously administered to five groups of mice. These groups were respectively bred on “ordinary feed”, “feed mixed with fucoidan derived from Mozuku, feed mixed with fucoidan derived from Mekabu”, “feed mixed with Agaricus mycelium extract”, and “fucoidan-mix feed”. After 20 days, the activity of NK cells were measured.

Effects of each Fucoidan, Agaricus Mycelium Extract and Fucoidan-Mix to Nk Cells In all the case of Mozuku Fucoidan, Mekabu Fucoidan, Agaricus Mycelium Extract and Fucoidan-Mix, NK cell activity significantly rose. Even among them, the most significant increase in NK cell activity was observed in fucoidan-mix.

We are conducting research on fucoidan, whose various physiological functions have been elucidated, including 'anti-tumor,' 'cholesterol-lowering,' 'blood pressure-lowering,' and 'anti-virus' effects.
